Collective bargaining will soon begin at the University of Delaware. The AAUP is the agent for the bargaining. The AAUP leadership recently sent you a questionnaire about potential bargaining issues, but they did not ask about certain issues the AAUP has advocated in past bargaining sessions. In particular they did not survey faculty opinion about racial and sexual preferences, or spousal benefits for homosexual (but not heterosexual) partners. The following questions, except for the one on spousal benefits for homosexuals, were asked by the Roper Organization for the National Association of Scholars (www.nas.org/textsum.htm).
