Program Objectives
The objectives of the postdoctoral fellowship training program are as follows:
- to provide additional high quality training experience for individuals who have completed a doctorate in the field of psychology;
- to provide postdoctoral fellows with regular intensive supervision in those activities carried out by professional psychologists in a university setting;
- to provide postdoctoral fellows with opportunities for the refinement of the basic skills (individual, group, outreach, supervision, assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, teaching) necessary to practice as a professional psychologist in a university setting and to deepen skills in related areas of practice;
- to provide postdoctoral fellows with a forum to further develop an area of specialization;
- to provide postdoctoral fellows with the opportunity to accrue the necessary supervised clinical hours to achieve licensure.
