Application Procedures
Because of the sequence of course offerings, it is desirable to have students begin their studies in the fall semester. Requests for admission to the program for other than fall semester should be discussed with the Program Coordinator prior to application.
To apply for admission:
1. File a graduate school admission application with:
Office of Graduate Studies OR on-line at www.udel.edu/gradoffice/
University of Delaware
Newark, DE 19716
(302-831-2129)
2. Arrange to have copies of all transcripts and Graduate Record Examination scores sent to the Office of Graduate Studies.
3. Arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation evaluating the applicant's potential as a graduate student in counseling or student affairs practice in higher education submitted directly to you and forward all to:
Office of Graduate Studies
University of Delaware
Newark, DE 19716
4. Attend a mandatory on-campus interview with the graduate advisory committee. Applicants will be contacted to schedule this interview after the graduate school application is received by the program and reviewed to meet minimum standards.
Deadline
Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by February 1, even though the official University deadline is July 1, for admission to the following fall semester. Interviews for admission to the program usually begin in February and admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. Once commitments are received from the desired number of applicants who have been offered admission, no other applicants can be admitted, regardless of their qualifications.
