Counseling and Psychiatry
Students with personal, career, substance use/abuse, or educational concerns may be eligible to receive individual, group, and/or psychiatric services.
We are committed to providing psychological services that are sensitive to each individual and to differences based on gender, race, culture, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, and spiritual belief. We strive to create an atmosphere
where you can feel comfortable enough to explore your concerns. You may find that counseling is both a supportive and challenging experience — most students report that they feel understood and that, through increased self-awareness, they gain
insights into coping and living more effectively.
Here are a few suggestions that will assist you in the counseling process:
- Be open to change and learning about yourself.
- Take an active role in your counseling. Let your counselor know what is on your mind and how the counseling process is working for you. Feel free to ask questions and raise concerns.
- Keep your scheduled appointments.
- If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, call to cancel or reschedule as soon as you can.
