Wildlife Conservation
Students who are interested in the wildlife life sciences, whole organisms, ecology, and the biological aspects of the environment can find their interests met in the Wildlife Conservation major. Students in this program learn about wildlife management; conservation techniques; and non-domesticated animals, including mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians.
Environmental consulting and education.
Wildlife biologist and endangered species biologist. Wetlands protection and rehabilitation. These
careers and more are shared by Wildlife Conservation alumni, many of whom
work for state and federal agencies; museums; environmental consulting
firms; parks; zoos and arboreta. While some
students enter the workforce right after college, others choose to further
their education in graduate school, studying subjects like wildlife
management, wildlife ecology, avian ecology, entomology, forest ecology, and conservation
biology. Whatever your goal, we encourage you to participate in job-search
workshops and career days, seek an internship, develop your communication
skills, and learn to network with prospective employers.
