- Use the Career Services website to identify internships, summer job, and part-time on- and off-campus job vacancies.
Obtain employment and internships related to your career choice to gain valuable skills. Registration with e.Recruiting.com is necessary for viewing internships. Part-time and summer vacancies are posted online at www.udel.edu/CSC/.
- Meet nonprofit employers at the Volunteer Fair in the fall.
Network with employers who have internships.
- Attend Fall Career Expo (formerly the Job Jamboree) and the Spring Career Expo.
Speak with employers about employment opportunities with their organizations. Contact Career Services for more information.
- Learn how to obtain credit for your internship.
Contact your department's internship coordinator or visit Career Services.
- Join student chapters of professional or trade associations.
Contact an advisor at Career Services to discuss appropriate organizations related to your career choice or major. Attend professional meetings (local or national) to begin establishing a professional network. Keep in touch with your contacts after the meeting.
- Assume active leadership roles in campus organizations or community activities.

- Join academic organizations and honor societies.
Keep informed about current issues and trends in your chosen profession and make contacts with others in your career area.
- Find a mentor.
Identify a professor, faculty advisor, alumnus, or employer whom you can talk to about academic and career issues. For help locating a mentor, check into the Alumni Career Network program at Career Services.
- Consider a study-abroad program.
