Wednesday, 12/2

• 11am-4pm: Education Job Fair (Trabant University Center, University of Delaware campus)
• 5-6:30pm: President's Reception and "Express Ideas"
  • "Express Ideas" sessions will include:
    • Unique Careers in Education Expo- Jackie Meade and Deb Snyder
    • Alternative Certification Information – Mark Holman
    • The CAL-U Career Advantage Program – Rhonda Gifford
    • Maryland Certification Information - Aretha Young
    • Virginia Certification Information – Alice Ford and Suzanne Harvey
    • West Virginia Certification Information – Tammy Wood
• 6:30-8:30pm: Awards Banquet
• 8:30pm: "45 Years of MAEE? Time Flies—What Do You Recall?”
  • A fun and informative format for veteran and new MAEE members.
• 5-10pm: Silent Auction

Thursday, 12/3

• 7:30-8:30am: Breakfast
• 8:30-9:30am: Keynote Speaker: Penny Earley, George Mason University
  • Running Red Lights While Racing to the Top
    • Dr. Earley is Professor and Director of the Center for Education Policy at George Mason University; she has also been a popular speaker at previous MAEE conferences.  As an expert in education policy, she has helped us understand the context for teacher recruitment and retention.  With a new US President, administration, and emerging initiatives in education, we look forward to her insights and “translation” of the national political and educational landscape.
• 9:45am-noon: Concurrent Sessions
  • Topics will include:
    • Effective School Discipline
    • Gender Representation and Cultural Stereotypes: Increasing Student Achievement
    • Teacher Rights and the U.S. Constitution
    • PA and DE Certification Updates
• 12:15-1:30pm: Annual Business Meeting; light lunch and giveaways!
• 1:30pm: Conference adjourned
