Agriculture and Natural Resources
For students who have wide-reaching interests in agriculture and natural resources - or who can't settle for just one of our majors - ANR provides an easy way to combine interests and create an individual curriculum. By choosing courses in Animal and Food Sciences; Entomology and Wildlife Ecology; Food and Resource Economics; Bioresources Engineering; and Plant and Soil Sciences, students complete at least 30 credit hours in agriculture and natural resources. Additionally, they select various courses in literature, the arts, social sciences, humanities, computing, mathematics, communications, and the physical and life sciences. There is a lot of freedom in the ANR major, and with an advisor to assist, students design programs to fit their individual interests and career goals.
Agriculture and Natural Resources alumni are
employed in careers like landscape design, poultry company management, marketing,
chemical sales, agricultural research, animal care, science teaching, dairy
production, crop consulting, and environmental control. Whatever your goal,
we encourage you to prepare yourself for the real world by attending job search
workshops and career fairs, enhancing your public speaking skills, and getting
experience through internships and independent studies.
For further information on any of the College
of Agriculture and Natural Resources majors, contact the Office of Academic
Programs at 831-2508 or stop by 104 Townsend Hall.
