Fiscal Year 09-10 Self-Supporting Units Budget Turnaround
Guidelines
FY09-10
Budget Turnaround for self-supporting operations spreadsheets are due back to
your department’s final approver prior to the submission deadline of December 18, 2008.
Finalized
spreadsheets must be sent to bta@udel.edu
by your department’s final approver.
If
you encounter any problems with the spreadsheets or have any questions, please
call or email your Budget Analyst in the Budget Office (x1234). We need to be aware of any problems or
concerns and welcome your questions.
Adjust
the “FY10 Proposed Budget” column to reflect the requested budget for FY09-10. The budget change will automatically
calculate. All changes must be
accompanied by an explanation in the “Comment” column. Comments
are required for major changes in the budget or when actuals are completely
different from the budget. Spreadsheets
will be returned if comments are inadequate.
Individual
revenue PS accounts MUST be rounded
to the nearest $100.
Benefit
calculations are provided based on FY09-10 budgeted salaries at the appropriate
rate of 35%, 58%, 8%, or 6.5% in columns W, X, Y, and Z. These columns will recalculate if you update
salary numbers. The 6.5% benefit rate is
calculated on graduate student PS accounts 122300, 122500, 122600, and
122800. Once you have completed all of
your budget adjustments, the benefit
numbers in the “FY10 Proposed Budget” column must equal the grand totals in the
“Total Calculated Benefits” columns.
If
you add a new salary PS account (by adding a new row), the “Total Calculated
Benefit” columns will not update. A
manual calculation for benefits will be required.
Budget the allocation/balancing purpose
at an amount other than $0. The allocation/balancing
purpose is the last purpose on the budget turnaround spreadsheet.
The “FY10 Proposed Budget” Grand Total
must equal $0.
