In order for your application to be considered for admission, please submit the following information: Application, GRE or TOEFL Scores, one Transcript from each college, three Letters of Recommendation from faculty, Personal Statement, Curriculum Vitae/Resume, and Writing Sample (a recent scholarly art history term paper). In addition, applicants must submit the following supplements: List of Art History courses taken (titles and grades), and Foreign Language Information Sheet (list of languages other than English, and proficiency in that language).

Please make sure all of your application materials are submitted no later than January 1 for admission the following September.
Though certainly not a requirement for admission, students who are applying to the Department are always welcome to visit the University campus and have an interview with members of the Department faculty.
Fellowship and Tuition Costs
The Department of Art History offers a substantial number of graduate fellowships and teaching assistantships, which in 2011-2012 carry stipends of $16,000 and tuition remission. This amount is increased with the award of $4,000 granted to graduate students who are enrolled in coursework. Graduate students are also eligible for University fellowships.
