About the Friends of Art History
The Friends of Art History is a volunteer-driven association of UD Art History alumni, and anyone interested in the arts more generally, as a way to stay in touch, exchange ideas, and, importantly, to help support the Department. Our nationally distinguished program has over the years launched many fruitful and deeply satisfying careers in the arts and related areas. Joining The Friends of Art History is a way for you to help build our community and guarantee the success of the Department's ongoing mission to train its graduates and undergraduates to see works of art and architecture both as aesthetic object and cultural testimony.
As a member of The Friends of Art History you will have opportunities to learn about and attend various art-related activities, including new exhibition tours, lectures, gallery visits, conversations with art collectors and art dealers, trips to great international sites of ancient and modern culture, and many more such events that will entertain and educate members of the association, their parents, children, and friends.
A vibrant association of Friends will not only assure that we reach our common goals. It will also go further to provide a public voice for all of us, who believe the humanities remain critical as much for civic life as for academic study.
Membership in The Friends of Art History begins at $25.
