In December 2002 the African Studies Program hosted a Claude Ake Scholar.

Ms. Caroline Kihato, Senior Researcher at the Centre for Policy Studies
in Johannesburg, South Africa, visited UD for one week.
Among other things, she presented a seminar to faculty and graduate students
on 'Strengthening Civil Society in South Africa.'

The Claude Ake Scholars program is sponsored by the
Africa America Institute and the African Studies Association.
