Abstract:
The Cartoon Guide to Statistics has been a part of the statistics scene for eight years now. A quick review of the construction and deconstruction of the Cartoon Guide reveals some general principles for presenting statistical arguments in a concise way, using memorable examples with a punch line, i.e., cartoons.
For those who are unfamiliar with the unique and successful Temple University Statistics program, I will also give a short presentation on the statistical research and M.S./PhD. programs within the Department.
