Delaware Chapter, ASADinner Meeting: January 2002
Abstract: Considerable progress in methodology development for the analysis of categorical response data has been made in recent years. Furthermore, developers of statistical software packages have continued to expand their capabilities so that practitioners can now implement many of these methods within standard algorithms. This talk will review population averaged (PA) models within a generalized estimating equation framework (GEE) for the analysis of categorical response data for study designs involving subject-level clustering. These methods will be illustrated using SAS, and several special purpose software macros, applied to longitudinal count data from a randomized clinical trial, as well as ordinal response data from a crossover clinical trial.
