Mission Statement:
The University of Delaware strives for an atmosphere in which all people feel welcome to learn, embrace creativity, think critically, inquire freely, and respect the views and values of an increasingly diverse population. The ADA Office is a branch of Affirmative Action and Multicultural Programs and is committed to the principle that no otherwise qualified individual shall, on the basis of disability, be excluded from, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination with regards to the programs, activities or services provided by the University. We are committed to equal opportunity in education and employment.
Non-Discrimination:
The Office of Affirmative Action monitors the University's Affirmative Action Program and works with academic departments and administrative units to set annual goals for enhancing the representation of under-represented groups and women at all employment levels of the University. Office staff are also available to advise employees who believe that they may have been the subject of discrimination. In addition, the office provides diversity education for faculty, staff and students, and serves as the administrative arm for the Commission to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity.
