Hospitals from across the state of Delaware are in need of additional help and CHS students are able to volunteer to assist during this unique time.

Please note this volunteer opportunity is not hosted by or organized through the University of Delaware. Once you submit this form, you will be provided with a link to complete your registration through the State of Delaware.

NOTE: In order to volunteer, students need to be vaccinated and follow any additional safety protocols (ex. mask wearing) of the site.

Areas of Need: (Please select all that you could assist with.) *

Environmental Services: assisting in the cleaning of rooms and equipment, often a physically demanding role.

Dietary and Nutritional Support: obtaining dietary orders from patients and delivering food trays at meal times.

Security: provide unarmed security services in the Emergency Room and public areas.

Clerical / Registration: provide clerical services on nursing the outpatient clinics, making and answering phone calls.

Patient experience lobby support: patrol and monitor patients and families waiting in the lobbies to provider services, communicate concerns and information, and ensure safety.

Receiving/ supply delivery: Act as runners and delivery personnel for material needed throughout the day and improve patient flow.

Patient Sitters: physically monitoring patients to ensure physical safety and reducing falls.

Lift Team / Transport: Physically lifting and moving patients in and out of bed and transporting them via gurney or wheelchair throughout the hospital.
