Journey to the Moon: Space Exploration

A view of the distant Moon setting over the Earth, taken from the International Space Station in 2013.
July 20th, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing Mission, during which NASA Astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the surface of the moon. This historic achievement represents many years of exploration, experimentation and imagination, which would continue into the future. In conjunction with the Delaware Humanties' DEstination: Space exhibit, the Film & Video Collection commemorates these efforts by exploring how space exploration, both real and imagined, has been documented on film.
